DESCRIPTION

A speaker simulating a DJ with its own shared network and interface, that people ‘log into’ as a guest at a party. They can wish for songs for the overall playlist (based on a mood-interface). If a majority then wishes for a certain mood, the speaker adapts the playlist to the mood.

A key element in the design was simplicity – the users should not need to download or install anything on their phones. The process to connect with the speaker is easy and quick.

HOW IT WORKS:

Connect your phone to the host’s network
Type in the browser the link for the web app
Choose your mood and your playlist
Send it to the queue and Arty will take care of the rest

THE CHALLENGE

Creating and maintaining a nice vibe in social gatherings and parties is usually the key to a pleasant, fun, and memorable event but sometimes also challenging

THE SOLUTION

A speaker that performs as a DJ and the users can connect to it on its own online platform and create the vibe of the social gathering or party.

CONTRIBUTION

In this project, I was responsible for qualitative user research, by mainly interviewing potential users, and organizing co-designing workshops. I was also part of the concept development by having ideation and brainstorming sessions with my team, creating physical and digital wireframes, mock-ups, designing the UI on Figma, and creating a functional prototype, as well as I was responsible for the user testings.
